Developing Ties with Howza Affiliates in Syria

Alhamdullah, by the grace of Allah (SWT), the Islamic Institute for Postgraduate Studies (IIPS) has developed and maintained ties with major Howza affiliates in Syria.

Left to Right: Sheikh Safdar Jaffer, Syed ImamZada, Dr Ahmad Hassam, Sheikh Waheedi, Sheikh Mohammed Ali Ismail and Hajji Hussein Ravji After a recent visit by the Principal of Howza Al Khomaini, Sheikh Waheedi to the IIPS, the IIPS Team was invited to have a meeting at the Khomaini Howza to discuss its project and share their views with each other. Also present during our visit was the principal of the ladies Howza, Syed ImamZada.

During the meeting, Sheikh Waheedi was impressed with efforts made thus far by the IIPS and offered his full support. He also suggested that continued ties must continue and develop and offered his full support and commitment to the IIPS.

Since the development of these relations, the IIPS team is now in a position to make recommendations for student enrollment to Howza Al Khomaini for members of our community who may not meet our current institute criteria but may be very eager to develop their Islamic knowledge.

IIPS is also privileged to have the Tableegh committee of Ayatollah Khamanai’s office come to the institute where they learned about our aims and objectives of the Mubaligheen Training Programme. They prayed for its continued success and efforts made thus far.

The World Federation Damascus office Manager Hajji Hussein Ravji commented:  “Through the sincerity, commitment and hard work of the entire IIPS team and external MTP team working towards one goal in developing Mubaligheen for our global communities, the work pays off by becoming recognized and trusted through the professional standards we place within the organization. The IIPS looks forward in maintaining our relationship with Sheikh Waheedi”
