| ---Fiqh (jurisprudence) Course Description |
|
The simplified Fiqh course is designed for the first year non-Arab students of the WF Muballigheen Training Program. The items are presented in the form of a simplified dialogue and simple description. The first objective of this course is to help the non-Arab students to learn the description (and the expression) of the Islamic Fiqh fundamentals and teachings step by step so that they will be prepared for the first task of tableegh during summer breakdown when sent back to their hometown. The second important objective is to help students through this course to learn aspects of the Arabic language relevant to Fiqh basic terminology and expressions. The basic fiqh terms are introduced with focus upon their semantic, linguistic and technical senses in addition to their morphological or derivational patterns. Therefore this course is to be made by levels of difficulty to reinforce learning basic knowledge of both Fiqh and language relevant to Fiqh in particular, and the teacher should give a considerable attention to both sides of learning. The teacher will follow the following method of teaching: 1. Simply presents the subject matter without using the textbook by the use of a dramatic way and the available illustrative devices. 2. Reads in the textbook and explains the language expressions. 3. Students read in the textbook. 4. They try to describe the subject in Arabic, such as ablution. 5. The teacher is to ask different comprehension questions to test the students' understanding and language. 6. They also may interactively ask each other. 7. They do homework exercises outside the class. 8. Homework exercises are to be pertinent to scientific as well as linguistic aspects. It is better at first to test their response orally. 9. The teacher should check their homework performance. |
