First Year:

2007/2008 (1st INTAKE – YEAR 1) – START DATE: Saturday 8th September 2007 ( 24th Sha’baan 1428 )

MODULE IIPS_ARA - designed specifically for the Institute. This module will meet the needs of non-Arab Muslim students who are preparing for a career in Mosque preaching. It aims at teaching Arabic with a goal of enabling an understanding of Qur’an, Hadith (Traditions) and Islam, and being able to use the language in every day life and daily cultural as well as educational situations.
Arabic Mukaddama	Introductory Level – covers Arabic alphabet (letter recognition and writing), sound and word pronunciation, sound diacritics, passive reading and writing and the use of basic vocabulary and common expressions for daily communication.
Arabic Level 1	Elementary Level – covers fundamentals of standard Arabic by vocabulary building, comprehending and using short communicative dialogues, active reading, writing and using basic Arabic expressions and constructions.
Arabic Level 2	Intermediate Level – Develops intermediate skills in understanding, reading, communicating and writing in Arabic with a continued emphasis on the acquisition of vocabulary, necessary derivations, structures and grammatical patterns necessary for comprehension of traditional Arabic at the intermediate level.
Arabic Level 3	Advanced Level – Develops advanced language skills in acquiring and using Arabic patterns, expressions and discourses of connected speech.
Arabic Writing	Learning to write starting with symbols and copy books
Comprehension	Developing and improving listening and reading comprehension
Dictation	Developing and improving listening and handwriting
Composition	Developing and improving Arabic writing skills
Fiqh Basic	Correcting pronunciation of daily prayers
Fiqh 1	Covering the first three branches of religion to learn Arabic terminology in jurisprudence
Fiqh 2	Covering the second three branches of religion to learn Arabic terminology in jurisprudence
Fiqh 3	Covering the last four branches of religion to learn Arabic terminology in jurisprudence
Qur’an	Reading and memorising some Qur’anic chapters and selected verses (thematic)
Tajweed	Learning and practicing the rules of Qur’anic recitation
Hadith	Understanding and using short quotes of the Prophet and Imams
Aqaid	Going through required beliefs to learn Arabic terminology
Tutorial	Supervised development of research and team working
